Yes, you read correctly, we have changed the name from The Dundas Street Bakery to The ‘BaBS’. We needed something new and fresh that, not only highlighted the great baked products we have been making since we re-opened September last year, but also the new Bistro portion of our ‘Spot’.
So … Damn the Covid-19 Pandemic and let’s go to The BaBS
At the BaBS, we continue to make our great breads, donuts, cakes and cupcakes aside new delectables with a touch of Europe! The recipes are still based on the almost 75 years of the Historical Bakeries of Durphy, Olsen, Hank and of course Len, who still drops in from time to time to share his stories. We have taken these great creations from the past and have added a little Funk and in some cases, Mish Mash. Compliment that with some great coffees from Europe and other unique teas and drinks which make the Bistro offerings worth the drive to Napanee.
The Bistro will continue to offer, as in the past, our weekly Soup Specials along with our Signature Sandwich Board which will highlight some choice Baker surprises like our Dead Witch Flatbread. The owner claims these come from Dead Witch’s concoctions and recipes he found in abandoned Huts while roaming the European Forests. ‘A touch of Europe’ or the ‘delicious’ depending how these Dead Witches look and taste. LOL
The BaBS continues to be open Monday to Saturday, 7am-6pm and on Sunday, 9am-5pm.
We will be beginning soon with additional weekly Baker Surprises for those who are not ready for a Dead Witch. Fantastic Tuesdays will feature new Savories which should spark some new, salty or sweet, taste explosions. Super Thursdays will feature new cookie, cupcake, donut and stupendous cake creations.
